Hernandez studied in the School of Fine Arts at La Llotja in Barcelona and together with Alcoy i Rovira, Brull and Planell, created ‘La Escuela de Barcelona’.
In 1981, he was appointed Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona.
Pijuan’s work can be found at the National Art Musuem of Queen Sofia in Madrid, and many other museums and institutions. He is one of the most celebrated artists of Spanish contemporary art. His works has been exhibited at the following galleries and institutions:
